“Paint the Night” with Renée Duval

In this workshop we’ll look at examples of paintings that explore the beauty and poetry of the night. Participants will create their own “nightscapes” and with a focus on the use of tonal values in creating a nocturnal sense of mood and atmosphere. The painting projects will be started in the first session and there will be a discussion on some selected works the following week.

Renée Duval graduated with honours from Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver and received her M.F.A. from Concordia University in Montreal. Renée has over 30 years experience teaching painting and also works as a personal mentor to artists.  Her teaching and mentoring focuses on helping individuals develop their own unique artistic voice.

This is a Zoom workshop in 2 parts. January 17 & 24 (1:00 – 2:00 pm)
